Amber Hansen
Executive Director
Amber Hansen is the founder of Seeds of Faith Preschool and serves as the Executive Director and Lead Teacher. Amber oversees all the curriculum, enrollment process, and the day to day operation of the preschool. After much prayer, we were able to purchase lots to build our new facility. We began offering full day options and our afterschool program for the 2019-2020 school. Amber said, “God has taken care of every hurdle for this school, and I am so blessed to share God’s word with young minds every day.”
Amber has always had a passion for watching young children learn and grow. At a young age she started babysitting. She received a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education in 2007 from the University of Central Missouri. Amber began her teaching career in a public preschool where she taught four years. While teaching in public school, she received a Master of Arts and Teaching Degree from Columbia College. Amber began serving as an Adjunct Professor at Central Methodist University seven years ago and enjoys teaching future teachers.
When Amber was asked what she enjoys most about teaching at Seeds of Faith Preschool she said, “I love to watch the children work hard at something, master that task and see the look of accomplishment on their face!”
When asking Amber about the curriculum, she commented, “This curriculum is really age appropriate and challenges young children at the same time.” We use ABEKA Curriculum for our 2-4-year-old classes. The curriculum teaches children their letters, numbers, shapes, colors in the younger ages. As children reach the four year old class, the curriculum starts focusing on letter sounds and handwriting, and then moves onto blending and reading three letter words, finally we start learning long vowel/short vowel sounds, double consonants, sight words, phonics, sentence structure, and reading sentences. We also work on number recognition and writing numbers 1-20.
